I made 3 of these Brassards for my Falklands War 'Blues & Royals CVR(T) Scorpion Crew' as this is how they wore their rank badges and other insignia at the time. |

Instructions
1. Remove the arms from an Armoury '2 Pocket' DPM smock by cutting the stitches around the seam where the arm meets the shoulder. Do this to both sleeves. |

2. Using the outer top edge of the sleeve as the top of the Brassard, cut out the basic shape. This is easier while the sleeve is intact. The slanted ends are where the seam of the sleeve has been unpicked. |
3. Folder over and sew all around the brassard except for the ends, to give a neat edge. The fold needs to be as small as possible, approx. 2 to 3mm is ideal. |

3. With the Brassard inside out, fold the ends together and sew together along the original arm seam. This will give a good shape for fitting around the inside of the arm. |

4. To the top of the Brassard sew a small loop of elastic. An epaulette goes through this loop to hold the Brassard in place at the top of the arm. |

4. Rank or other insignia is applied to the Brassard. In this case it is 'Lance Corporal of Horse' of the Blues and Royals. |
